Welcome to my Math Class for the 2020-2021 school year! Welcome to the wonderful world of Mathematics! My name is Mr. Craft, and I will be one of your child's Math teachers this school year. This will be my 8th year teaching Middle School Math. I'm married, and my wife and I have been blessed to share our union for more than 25 years! We have 4 adult children and have been living in Clayton County for more than 20 years. I received my Associate's Degree in Health and Physical Education from Georgia Highlands College (formerly Floyd College in Rome, GA.); my Bachelor's Degree in Middle Grades Education (Math and Language Arts) from Clayton State University; my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Thomas University; and my Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from GA. College and State University.
In our Math class, we will explore many different topics relating to “real-world” concepts and "real-world" experiences. As each day approaches us, we will communicate and develop a rapport that I hope will last us a lifetime! My goal is for each of you to learn and increase your Math assessment scores across ALL topics! Together, we can and we will make this happen!
Students will participate in a blended learning environment during the school year; however, initially they will be completing their school work online due to unforeseen circumstances. The online program is called Edgenuity.
Edgenuity offers standards-aligned video-based curriculum for middle and high school blended learning environments. The program allows educators to customize the curriculum for their students, who monitor their own progress while completing lessons, assessments, and interactive activities.
Although students will participate and complete their math assignments in Edgenuity, other math lessons may be included in my "Math Class" on the Google Classroom platform on a weekly basis. This will hopefully assist and support you as we continue to progress throughout the school year.
